Menzel - Liebermann - Slevogt: from Naturalism to Impressionism
Adolph von Menzel, Max Liebermann, Max Slevogt
Emanuel von Baeyer Cabinet is delighted to launch a new online exhibition containing rare prints and drawings by three artists who greatly influenced and shaped German artistic landscape.
Our exhibition visually illustrates the development from Naturalism of Menzel to more experimental plein-air style of Liebermann and Slevogt. The prints (most are rare proof impressions) and drawings of our display cover various genres, featuring landscapes, everyday life, portraiture and book illustrations. Our works boast a distinguished provenance, including the collections of Ismar Littmann (1878-1934) and Dr. Heinrich Stinnes (1887-1932).
